„Dangers“ and contraindications
Short:
„Dangers”:
- Abreactions
- Retraumatization
- => This only happens if someone has not undergone any in-depth training and has no idea what they are doing or should be doing -> Therefore, always check whether the person has any idea of the subject matter
PS: During my training, I learned what to do in the event of an abreaction and how to prevent retraumatization 😉
Contraindications:
- Thrombosis
- Myocardial infarction
- Stroke
- Psychoses
- => The above are absolute contraindications
- In my case, there are also non-absolute contraindications, which are all illnesses as defined by ICD-10 / 11 (in America better known as the DSM-5), since I do NOT have a healing license.
Long:
Yes, there are also dangers with hypnosis. Why I put the word dangers in quotation marks is quite simple. These “dangers” only happen when someone has no idea what they are doing. In a good hypnosis training, you learn how to deal with an abreaction and how to prevent retraumatization.
PS: In my trainings, I learned how to deal with an abreaction and how to prevent retraumatization.
There are also contraindications (i.e. factors that make it best not to perform hypnosis). These are, for example, thrombosis(es) (which you have already had, or even worse, which you are currently experiencing), heart attack (the same applies here as for thrombosis), stroke (same case as heart attack and thrombosis), the same applies to psychosis.
=> These illnesses belong in professional hands of a clinic and / or a doctor and must be treated medically!
These contraindications are called absolute contraindications. In my case, there are also non-absolute contraindications, which are all illnesses as defined by ICD-10 / 11 (in America better known as the DSM-5), this is the case because I do NOT have a healing license.
